Successfully applying for free school meals helps parents to save money on school meals and the daily   allowance will always enable your child to receive a main item (main meal /hot snack / sandwich / pasta or   salad pot etc) and either a pudding (fruit / cake / dessert) or a drink every lunchtime. The daily allowance   cannot be used at morning break.

Additionally all schools receive “Pupil Premium” funding which is calculated according to the number of   students on roll eligible for free school meals so we strongly encourage you to apply for your child even if   you do not intend for your child to purchase food at school.
