PSHE & RSE

Our PSHE and RSE curriculum aims to prepare children for their life in the wider world.  We look to develop the children’s ability to recognise their feelings, create strategies to help manage their emotions, learn ways to keep themselves safe and recognise how their actions may affect others.

The Life to the Full program is a relationship education rooted in Catholic teachings.  Giving the children an understanding of the human body, how to respect others and how to love others and relating it to Jesus’ teaching.  The children will learn to develop safe and healthy relationships with others and how to manage conflict with others.  The children will learn about the human life cycle and prepare them for changes that will affect their bodies as they grow older and develop an understanding of the life cycle.  We aim to teach the children how to identify safe and sensible decisions both on and off line and build resilience.  The children will learn about money and start to explore the skills and qualities they will need in the future.

Through the MyHappyMind’s program, we aim to deepen the children’s understanding of their emotions and improve their resilience.  Throughout the year the children will have 5 modules on Meet your Mind, Celebrate, Appreciate, Relate and Engage.  Helping them understand how the brain works, learn to celebrate their strengths, learn the importance of gratitude, how to develop healthy relationships and how to set and achieve goals.  Parents can support the children’s learning through the MyHappyMinds app.
