Governors
School governors offer strategic guidance to their school, supporting with the development of the school’s strategic direction, ensuring money is well spent and helping drive school improvement. They are ‘critical friends’, providing support and challenge to ensure the best outcomes all pupils.
Our governors are drawn from across the school community and work in close co-operation with the leadership team under the authority of the Diocese of Arundel and Brighton and within the Xavier Catholic Education Trust Scheme of Delegation.
The Governor's Prayer
God our Father,
By your grace St. Alban gave himself up for his friend and was the first in this land to shed his blood for Christ. Inspired by the Holy Spirit, may St. Alban continue to lead us in our faith. By our mission, and service, by being a link in a chain and a bond of connection between people, may we too lead the way to Christ for others.
Amen

The governors of St Alban’s Catholic Primary School believe it is important that boards reflect the diversity of the school communities they serve. Diverse boards promote inclusive school environments and provide diverse role models for staff and young people.
The governors are currently collecting data on the diversity of the board, including data on age, gender and ethnicity. They will use that data to inform their recruitment and training needs and ensure there is always a diverse range of perspectives around the table to support robust decision-making.
Due to our relatively small governing body, we do not publish this diverse data online as individual governors can be identified, and we have a legal obligation to protect this personal data.
Governors Fund
The school has a Governors Fund, funded through parental donations. The money raised goes towards supporting the learning and teaching across the school, helping to ensure that our children have access to the best resources and facilities. In past years the Fund has paid for the development of outdoor learning spaces, the improvement of play areas and development of the school grounds.
Any donations are very gratefully received. The most efficient way to donate is to set up regular payments through internet banking, which can be any amount you feel you are able to give. If you wish to set up a standing order you can find the relevant form in our 'parental forms' section of the site. Alternatively, there is an option of making your payment/s online via SCOPAY/Tucasi (https://www.scopay.com/login). Please ask at the school office if you require help with this.

If you are a taxpayer please also complete a Gift Aid Form, which allows the school to claim an additional 25p for every pound donated. This can be found on our 'parental forms' page.
Many employers operate match funding and/or similar funding schemes that could increase your contribution. We know how busy parents are, but if you think your employer may run one of these schemes, we are happy to assist in any administration that might be involved.
100% of the Governors Fund goes to the school and is used to benefit each and every pupil at St. Alban’s.
